CIVIL ENGINEER
Job description
As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, coordination of infrastructure facility design and industrial facility design and support for construction phase. You will be responsible for ensuring all civil and structural engineering tasks are executed in line with international and Mongolian standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Review and develop design documentation, technical calculations, and drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes and project requirements.
- Prepare and validate Terms of Reference (ToR), Scope of Work (SoW), Standards and design commentaries for civil/structural disciplines (including foundations, steel structures, and architectural elements).
- Participate in tender preparation and technical evaluation of proposals.
- Coordinate and resolve interfaces between civil works and other engineering equipment and systems (e.g., cables piping, trenches, penetrations) in collaboration with other disciplines.
- Optimize technical solutions at the detailed design stage to improve constructability, cost-efficiency, and maintainability.
- Identify and resolve design inconsistencies, technical clashes, and documentation gaps.
- Coordinate with design companies, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Support the construction team by providing on-site engineering supervision, resolving technical issues in real time.
- Ensure strict adherence to construction safety protocols and quality assurance/control procedures.
- Participate in technical reviews, audits, and acceptance of civil-related works.
- Support regulatory review processes and documentation submission for expert approvals (if required).
- Monitor construction progress and contribute to successful project execution in coordination with internal and external teams.
- Maintain up-to-date records and as-built documentation in coordination with project teams.
- Provide mentorship or oversight to junior engineering staff (if applicable)
Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in structural design, engineering, or related project engineering roles. Experience in industrial or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Solid understanding of civil and structural design principles, construction techniques, and engineering coordination processes.
- Proficiency in developing and reviewing design and estimate documentation, including architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with Mongolian and international codes and standards relevant to industrial construction (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, etc.).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. Experience with Revit or other BIM software is a strong advantage.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess risks and propose practical technical solutions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; capable of coordinating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in both Mongolian and English is required (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
